Allan is a professional accountant and business director. He has accumulated vast experience at senior level in manufacturing and service organisations in a number of sectors over the last thirty years since graduating from university and radiates as much of it as possible in order to help others be more successful. Born in Birmingham, UK he nevertheless has a sense of humour and a brain.
Allan is most interested in better practical ways to enable the greatest number of people living around him to enjoy more fulfilled lives and will join any team to bring this about.

Dan is an independent publisher and writer. He is the author of three books; The Threat to Reason, The Return of the Public and The Magic Kingdom. He presents the weekly Media Democracy podcast with Tom Mills.

Sophie is a filmmaker / producer, she developed a multi-disciplined approach to making films, doing everything from self shooting as a director to editing. For the last six years, Sophie has worked across various forms including documentary, fiction and promotional videos in the UK and internationally.

Steven has been a political activist for the last 17 years across a wide range of environmental and social justice campaigns. He has also been a Green Party Parliamentary candidate. As well as his own blogs, he has written for EDL News (an anti-fascist website), The Watermelon (Green Left), Manchester Mule, Real Media, and he’s been a political commentator for That’s Manchester TV.

Tom Mills is a lecturer in sociology at Aston University and is the author of ‘The BBC: Myth of a Public Service’. He co-hosts the weekly Media Democracy podcast with Dan Hind and tweets @ta_mills.
Thomas co founded Real Media in 2014 with Kam Sandhu, before leaving it in June 2017 to focus fully on solving the problem of funding for independent media with The Media Fund.
Before working in independent media Thomas was active in anti racist and environmental organising, and before that was a club promoter and festival organiser.
He co-founded two festivals – Pangaea and Mad Ferret (which went on to be part of Parklife + a production agency)- co-organised Dead Prez’s first UK tour, and brought lots of new artists to Manchester to support a thriving underground scene.
